Summary of the game
The game is a city-building game with real-time strategy elements belonging to The Settlers series developed by Blue Byte Software. The player is expected to construct and administer a settlement and expand its territory to defeat rival settlements and/or gain control of the map (or a predetermined part of it). In the campaign mode the player controls a group of Romans led by Octavius, who were shipwrecked on an unknown island. In order to come back to Rome they have to go through a series of magical portals. These are, however, controlled by enemy peoples that must be defeated.
Nubian territory (?) conquered by Rome (https://www.gog.com/pl/game/the_settlers_2_gold_edition)
Egyptomania narratives or motifs
Egyptomania motifs in this case are limited to Nubians featuring as one of the enemies the player is expected to defeat. Nubians are represented here is in a rather stereotypical way as dark-skinned inhabitants of Africa with no references to actual Nubian culture.
