Egyptomania narratives or motifs
In S01E03 of this series, the main character, Nahimira, after joining the Time Patrol as a trainee, begins to participate in the first cases of time travel to save people throughout history.
In this episode, Nahimira is invited to her friend’s house to see photos and hear stories of her friend’s uncle, who lived in Egypt for many years. However, as she is about to go to her friend's house, Ream, her Time Patrol partner, appears and tells her that they have a mission in ancient Egypt. They make the time travel and turn up in 2592 BC, the Egypt of the Old Kingdom and the age of the pyramids. The Time Patrol's mission on this occasion is to save a young man from Luxor, Thot, from being buried alive in the funerary chamber of the pyramid of Pharaoh Djoser of the 3rd Dynasty.
Like his father Snefru, Thoth is a builder. Snefru was commissioned by Imhotep, the pharaoh's architect, to go to Sakkarah to participate in the construction of the royal tomb. Faced with Imhotep's initial idea of building a large mastaba, Snefru proposes to create several successive mastabas, which will increase in number as the work progresses. Snefru is thus made the creator of the first pyramid, the step pyramid of Sakkarah. When Snefru dies before the pyramid is finished, the responsibility for building the monument falls to his son Thot. Knowing the fate that awaits Thot, the Time Patrol tries to persuade him to not accept this job through various strategies. One of them is to produce a hologram of the goddess Hathor, whose voice, performed by Ream, threatens Thot with impiety if he accepts the job. But nothing persuades the young man. Once the work is finished, Imhotep accompanies the king's funeral retinue to the burial chamber, and, once there, tells Thoth that, as the only one who knows the intricate underground plan of the pyramid, he must lie next to the king. He argues this is necessary so that the tomb robbers do not discover the layout and arrangement of the chambers and steal the treasures.
At this point, the Time Patrol intervenes by moving forward in time, to the moment when the tomb had already been looted, so that Thot finds his way out safely by following the path that the thieves used to enter the tomb 400 years after the pharaoh's body was buried. With this, Thot is free. After another time travel back to his own time, Thot joins his wife and children, and they go to the oasis of Dakhla to live a quiet life away from the court.

The episode illustrates many aspects of the daily life of a community of workers and the construction of the great monuments of the past. The educational purpose of the series is clearly expressed in numerous passages in which the protagonist of the series speaks of the need to learn more about this ancient civilisation, along with its cultural manifestations, customs, and beliefs. The beginning of the episode provides context: the photos shown by the uncle of Nahimira's friend allows for the presentation of certain general information about ancient Egypt, including its periods of apogee, the Egyptian name of the country (Tauy), the name of its capital (Ineb hedj), and information about the third dynasty. The description of the construction of the pyramid and the funerals of the deceased king are also evidence of the series' educational purpose.
